The opening ceremony of the ‘Master in International Law, Foreign Trade and International Relations’ 12th edition has taken place at ISDE’s headquarters in Madrid.
The event was chaired by Honorable Mr. Juan José Sánchez Puig, CEO of ISDE, Mr. Francisco Javier Silván, Mr. José Luis Risco and Mrs. Lucia Jaquotot, Master Co-Directors. They all gave warm words of welcome to the new students.
Mr. Francisco Javier Silván began by welcoming the students and stating that 3 main words came to his mind as an advice for the students: “Opportunity, proactive and network. You have at ISDE a good opportunity. Try to be as proactive as possible and consider each class as a job interview since the professors you will have may hire you in the future. The last word is network. Use this master as your own professional network, the sooner you start to do so the better.”
Immediately after, students shortly introduced themselves to the rest of the classmates and explained their expectations related to the Master. This edition of the Program has gathered students from six different nationalities, which reinforces the international character of ISDE: Italy, Venezuela, Honduras, Spain, United States, and Cuba.
Then Pia Kohrs, former student of ISDE’s Master in International Law, Foreign Trade and International Relations 2015 edition, currently working at Rödl & Partner, leading German law firm in Spain, shared her own experience and gave the students some pieces of advice regarding the program.
Lastly, Mr. Juan José Sánchez Puig concluded this act by welcoming the students and thanking them for their confidence in our institution: “We expect you to be excellent students and work hard, as this is the beginning of your professional career. ISDE will be supporting you during you during this important challenge.”
