Yesterday morning took place the training session: ‘Toolkit for Arbitral Award Writing’, jointly organized by the Club Español de Arbitraje under 40 “CEA-40” and the International Bar Association under 40 (“IBA-40”) at the Court of Arbitration of Madrid, Palacio de Santoña.
ISDE, with the aim of promoting the continuous training in the international arbitration field among professionals who want to advance and pursue their careers in this field and who want to develop their knowledge base, skills and contacts, was the official collaborator of this event.
The speakers at the session were: Mr Victor Bonnin Reynes (VBArbitration; CEA Under 40), Ms Krystle Baptista Serna (Armesto & Asociados), Ms Angeline Welsh (Matrix Chambers; IBA Arb40 Co-Chair) and Mr Julien Fouret (Betto Seraglini), all of them experts and leading practitioners on the international arbitration field.
The event was based on the IBA Arb40’s Toolkit on Award Writing. Attendees received useful advice from the lecturers, regarding how to avoid mistakes while drafting an Award and they learned about the content, general and practical considerations and techniques for proper drafting, having taken part in a practical group exercise.
At the end of this session Mr David Arias, Founder Partner of Arias SLP, Co-chair of the IBA Arbitration Committee and Professor of the Master in International Commercial & Investment Arbitration of ISDE gave a speech in his condition of the key-note speaker of the session. Immediately after participants received an institutional presentation of ISDE and of this new Master that ISDE offers with the collaboration of the CICIA ‘Center for International Commercial & Investment Arbitration’ located at Columbia Law School in New York. Finally, Mr Antonio Sánchez-Pedreño, Chair of the Arbitration Court of Madrid shared some final thoughts with the participants on behalf of the institution.
